HP Touchsmart Notebook will not turn on

Hello,
I have a HP Touchsmart notebook and it shut down and will not start at all. I've tried taking the battery out and reinstall it but nothing works.
I just get the power charge icon light come on and flash when I slide the power button

Just had this issue today with ours. HP said to remove the battery, hold the power button for 10 seconds, then replace the battery. It worked here.

This worked for me, too. Thanks for posting this solution. I'm glad I didn't have to pay hp $49 (the price they charge for calling their "direct support" line) for this simple fix!

Hi there,

Let the machine without battery for some hours then reseat the battery and plug the adapter and try again
