Can't turn my music off

Hello,

For some odd reason I cant seem to turn my volume off. Im using windows vista 32 bit something or another and the little speaker symbol in the bottom right corner is at zero but I still hear music. I had recently used a restoration disk on my computer and I never had this problem before. So, does anyone have any ideas? Well aside from turning the speakers off alltogether.
