Sony Vaio desktop powers up then nothing

Hello,
Hi I have a Sony Desktop, whehn turned on it powers up shows the windows logo, thenj nothing, the screen is balnk, but has a cursor which moves with the mouse??? so the screen looks okay, tried another screen and same problem, both screens tried on another pc, screens not faulty, must be something else??
