WinXP Freezes On The Login Screen

I recently was give a computer with a very annoying problem (Especially Lenovo Desktop & Laptop), If waiting more then 3min, it will freezes on the login screen when press Ctrl+Alt+Del is no response.

I done all the virus and spyware scans in safe mode I've also disable some services and all of the Startup item the problem still the same.

Anyone have this experience? kindly share some solutions. TQ

Thank you ralphen, i'll try this method....but before that, i would like to know after repair the windows, is this will effect my current installation program?
