Hello,

I have damaged my friend's Linux machine that runs Win XP. (All I know about the type of Linux is that it has the red penguin). This happened while he was out and now the machine 'endlessly' loops in a Windows restart mode. In my panic, I believe I hit the Safe Mode startup as well as Windows Normal reboot and some files may have been overwritten.

Naturally he won't let me near the machine and is very angry.

Please reassure me that with some work the machine may be restored.

Thank you all.
