Hello,

My laptop was low on hard drive space. So to free up some space i put everything onto blank disks that said i could put music, photos and files on.

Now i want my word documents back that are precious documents...but my laptop won't read what's on the disc.

Does anyone know how to get these back or are my files gone forever?

thanks

Dear Sarah,

Please give clear information about which disk you are referring to and how you transferred the files to it.

Thank you.

They were blank discs from tesco that are re-writable...it says they can hold data, photo, music. I transferred the files by inserting the disc and selecting the files i wanted and clicking burn. I then had to name the disc and drop the files into the discs location.

Thanks

Hello Sarah,

Rewritable disks are one of the most unreliable inventions. I used mine twice and then played frisby and trap shooting with them.

Using explorer only, can you tell if there is anything on them? If so, what are the files properties and format ?

If when trying to read the disk, your CD reader keeps turning, then your data is lost.

Sorry
