Check your device manager (Start > Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager.
If you have any hardware with device drivers malfunctioning it should show up there. Locate your malfunctioning hardware there! If the driver is messed up, try this first, right click it and click disable, then click properties and uninstall the driver.
After that restart your computer and 8/10 it will reinstall the device on it's own.
