Run IE8 and Firefox at the Same Time?

Hi, Tech Experts:
I have an odd habit of running FF and IE8 at the same time. Any reason why this is a bad idea that will blow up my P.C./hotwire my car/shortsheet my bed, etc.?
(In case you were wondering, I do it to keep work stuff and home stuff separate -- it gives me different favorites, history, etc. I'm sure there are other ways, but this one works for me.)
