my pc will not restart after self shut downClosed

Hello, 

 i was transferring some folders from one of my other pc to my compaq pc over the wireless connection,but then it suddenly went off and refuse to start up again though the lights are on but the screen is black out.thanks

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.3

Please give more information on the system which is not starting since went off.Have you checked all the wall outlets?you mean the desktop pc?or its a laptop?
