Black screen

Hello,

When i turn the power of my laptop on, it starts booting and at the windows XP progress bar the screen turns black. The only thing on the screen is the cursor, i can move the cursor but there are no icons or anything to click on. Please help.

try to boot into safe mode _ press F8 multiple times during the boot process. Then tell us the results.

I am having the same problem. All I did was boot my laptop and it booted to a black screen with a flash white cursor in the top left corner. Pressing F8 during booting does not change anything for me.

I am a Mac user so I am not familiar with trouble shooting Windows problems. Anyone know how to fix this?

Anyone unfortunate enough to have to use Windows may find luck in simply turning your laptop off, and unplugging everything from it - including the power cord - and then wait a minute and turn it back on.

Worked for me.
