Adobe Flashplayer problems

Hello,

I have been trying for weeks to have Adobe FP install on my computer. I tried through IE and now I'm using Firefox and it still doesn't work. I have a older computer. Using Windows XP, I have that 32 bit thingy. I've uninstalled, and installed a zillion times to no avail...Can you help a sista out?!!!!
