Cannot connect to store

i have been unable to connect to my store in 2 months now and it is really frustrating me. i checked the Lan settings and my firewall i uninstalled and reinstalled itunes at LEAST 8 times i tried the parental control with the itunes u and everything and nothing is working. i keep getting the message saying cannot connect to itunes store please make sure your network connection is active and try again. i am connected to the internet because i am typing from the same computer and i checked it 2 seconds ago. plz help this is really frustrating
