Wont connect to broadband (Cable)

Hello, yesterday i totally restored my puter back to factory specs now i cant get it to get a connection using cable i have an aspire 5315-2077 i recently bought the recovery CD,s from acer for my apsire , i have charterpipe line service and we were on the phone for about an hour trying to get it to connect he gave me the number for tech support and stated that the problem was in the aspire ....Can you please help me with this matter?
