Hi there,
The motherboard replacement will not solve the issue ,if new updates have been installed on system you should wait for them to install so that you can use system properly,as you mentioned that after keeping it off for few time it boots up correctly then you should remove the battery and press on power button to remove the present static current remaining on the laptop and after this connect battery and adapter and power on the machine.
