problem with earphone Closed

Hello, i have a dell laptop well i dont really know which model it is but i just bought it last year and now i seem to be having a problem already.the problem is that ;- i just cant seem to get the earphones to work on the laptop. i plug the earphones in and i dont hear anything.i take it out and the sound is fine without the earphones.i tried 4 different earphones and it still didnt work.can someone please what i should do.

Hi there,

Your sound port may be damaged or try these settings:

Go to Control Panel,click on Hardware and Sound>click on Sound
then you devices should come up ; speakers, Digital Audio, and headphones
plug your headphones in then select headphones at the bottom it will say set as default,connect your earphone and enjoy the sound.
