Hello,
Try this 1.
Remove the RAM from the slot, clean it and place it back properly or try another
slot. Check your RAM also, even bad RAM will result in display problem.

also i have noticed when it switches on after a few minutes it switches it self off then back on again!

Hi there,
No the motherboard is still good else those light would not have been on,have you tried to remove the battery then start directly with power adapter?try it and give your feedback.
