Compaq laptop beep sound

Hello Sir,
I have compaq laptop and operting system I used Windows XP nowdays before starting my laptop it's give beep sound how to remove and what is the problem tell me and solve it pls

but one thing is where do you sit it if you don't get any air to it you may be over heating it and not cooling down but tell me how many beeping noise does it give you or just a long beeping sound then
