Screen black yet operational

Hello,
my laptop screen is showing black with the log on page in the background almost can not see it, how can i fix this issue, I tried to unplug the laptop, removed the battery and held down the power button for 30secs to 2 mins replaced the battery powered it up and the same thing occurs

Hi,

This time,try with an external monitor,hook it to vga port ,if this works then you will be required to replace the lcd.
