i bought a western digital (WD passport essential 640) external drive just two months ago in Taiwan, while visiting , i am now at home in the caribbean (St.Vincent) and the drive just stop showing up on my lap top. It started a few weeks ago , when i plugged it in the LED did not lit up so i played with the USB cable a bit and it came on, but now when i plug it in the comes on and stays on it does not blink like before but the computer will not recognize it at all. I took the company advise and put all my important data on this drive now i cant get to access them . please help . the drive does not make any odd noise apart from a single click when i plug it in after that i can just hear it running without any further clicking noise.
