Hey guys, I'm James Heffer, aged 15, no more info thank u very much . . .
so here's this:
i got:
vista home premium
4 gig ram
PX9500GT 512MB graphics card
Direct X 9c
2.5GHZ DUAL CORE proccesor (5ghz)
Ok so i had GTA 4 installed on this pc that i just mentioned and it ran like a dream, then i formatted my pc cuz my dad loaded TROJANS on somehow, anyways after formatting it this %P problem came up which was weird cuz it ran before i formatted it, anyways, so i updated, drivers and everything, still didnt work . . .
Here is what you do :
Right click setup
Properties
Compatibility- It'll say compatibiltty mode, there u select Windows XP service pack 2 and click the little box
Apply

I was unable to run this game until I switched compatibility mode to windows 2000 for some odd reason.
Set GTA IV to Windows 2K compatibility mode.
1.Locate the GTA IV directory
* For Steam users, X:\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV
2.Right click "LaunchGTAIV.exe"
3.Select "properties"
4.Select the "compatibility" tab
5.Tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
6. Select "Windows 2000"
7.Press "OK"
8. Run the game from the "LaunchGTAIV" exe
