How to turn offSATA HDD

Hello,
I am trying to Install XP on my HP DV2000 laptop(Intially installed with WIndsows Vista Premium), but setup is automatically terminating throwing an error:Nohard discs drives were deteced". I have seen some people have the same issue when they try to do the Same procedure. From the Forums i came to know that by turnig off the SATA HDD we can resolve this issue. But i am not able to sfind this option . Please helpme..
