Download bluetooth driver & cant find device

Hello, I recently downloaded the bluetooth driver from acers supports site in an attempt to regain my previously working bluetooth capabilities. When i installed the driver i got an error message saying "No bluetooth device was detected. Please make sure that your bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation" and just gave me the option to cancel installation. Someone help please this is doing my nut in!
