I forgot, before you answer try this:
After plugging in the device.
1. Go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc")
2. In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC.
3.Right click and then click "Uninstall.
4. Remove the USB drive and restart your system.
5. Try connecting the device again, i think this should solve the problem.

There are two possible reasons for your pendrive issue:
1. Your pendrive has been damaged and in such a case, pendrives cannot be repaired.
2. Your pendrive has been virus infected in which case it can be desinfected.
Tell me which of the above is most probable and we will see what can be done.
