Try a System Restore to the most recent point before the sound card quits working.

U have to re-install ur sound card.
Tell the model of ur computer and I'll search for the driver u need and give u the link to download it.

Click here ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe to get the driver of the "Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio".
UAA is a windows patch. U must install it before running the driver of ur sound card.

U have to re-install ur sound card.

i have the same computer and i had that problem today...i reinstalled windows and had to download all new drivers i had a problem with the sound drive.....when your installing your drive and you put it to your desktop then unzip it to the cab... go into the HD sounds cab and go into the files and there will be one that says configure or something like that click on it and a install setup should come up... it worked for me......
