cant open my 2007 word documentClosed

Hello, i wrote an important paper in my firend's house. When i opened the document at home it was blank. when i tried opening it again , by using "recover from any file" it only showed me symbols and boxes. the document is doxc. in the beginning it would tell that "word experienced an error trying to open the file".how could i fix this? i need help asap. very important document

OK - I was thinking you were using a older version of Word that didn't support Word 2007 file types.  

Did you save the file on your friends computer and/or did you try to read the file on the friends computer?  If you can recover the file on the friends computer then save it on a different flash drive in Word 2003 (.doc) format.  Good Luck.
