Lost download fiule its dissapeared

Hello,
all i just was downloading a file 1.90gb and it location was set to save to desktop it got to 99% then i heard the "ting" sound that it had been downloaded but for some reason it just dissapeared from my taskbar and also its not on my desktop..ive tryed searching in windows for it but i just cant see it anywere.. does anyone know how i can find or recover this file? i really dont wanna download it all over again lol
any advice will be great

Are you using a special software for your downloads? If this is not the case, if afraid that your download is lost then ..When downloading large files better using special software "download accelerator plus"....you will be able to monitor your download , troubleshoot problems and resume downloads.
