This is most likely a hardware failure. Most laptop hard drives can be removed and connected to a USB adapter and used as an external drive. You would then be able to access your data via another computer.
You should have emailed yourself a copy of your report at the end of each day. Then you would have lost at most 1 day's work.
I hope your hard drive is still usable.
