Hello,
I had a folder with about 800GB of photos in it on an external harddrive. The computer was left on during the day with the drive plugged in and when i came to access the photos that evening they were not there when I opened the folder. There was only 118MB of photos in there. When i rightclick on the folder and select properties it shows that the folder is about 800GB in size but as mentioned when the folder is opened there are only 118MB of photos in there. I am running windows 7 and the external drive is 2TB so there is plenty of room on there.
Any suggestions as to what has happened/ how to recover the files?
Thanks

Hello,
Try this 1
If that particular folder properties is showing you the correct size then check if
the files are not in hidden mode.
Click on Start --> Run --> Type control folders and press Enter.
[If you are using "Window Vista or 7" then click on
Start --> In search box, type control folders and press Enter]
"Folder Options" will be opened. Click on the "View" tab.
Select the option "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck the check box
"Hide protected operating system files" --> Click on OK.
Good Luck

Try this 1
Copy the folder to another location and check if you can see the files. Also follow the above instructions.
Good Luck
