VAIO Laptop Screen is Blank When Power ON ?

Hi,

I have a SONY VAIO laptop which has no display if

1. restarted or
2. switched off then restarted

Very rarely display will come up when above options are used. So if no display comes, What I do is keep it off and switch on next day and display will be visible again !

I tried the static electricity removal method (Holding the power button for 30-60s method) but it works very rarely and is not dependable

Can some one help me with a permenent hardware solution ?

This could be either a problem with:
1. screen backlight
2. inverter that supplies power to the backlight
3. data/power cable from motherboard to screen
4. power supply circuit on the motherboard

None of these things can be fixed by the average home user. I suggest you find a qualified repair shop and have them give you an estimate.
