Sound is not working

Hello,
Respected Sir,
I right click "my computer"click "manage"click "device manager"click "sound,video and game controller
open(audio codes,legacy audio driver,legacy video capture device,media control devices,video codes. i can choose any of them it shows this device is working properly.i go to start menu, setting,control panel select sound and audio "it shows "no sound device" i don't understand whats going on my video device is working properly.but there is no sound
my computer is:-
microsoft windows XP Professional Version 2002
Service pack 2
intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.70GHz
1.70 GHz, 1.99 GB RAM.....

please give me an immediate solution for this big problem...

figure out your mother board model number then search for the correct sound card driver on the net. as i have advised someone else, try downloading CPU-Z program to find out your computer's model number. hope this helps, good luck. ;)
