Acer apsire 4935G Power Problem

Hello,

I hope someone can help please, my laptop works fine when you first switch it on with the battery or charger, if you power it down it needs to be left for a very long time before it will power up again. When you try to switch it back on with the battery only it seems dead (no blue light), if you plug in the power supply the little blue light strip flashes. I have metered the voltage from the power supply and it seems right (19v) and the battery is fine also?

Grateful for any suggestions

Can you remove the battery and test it with the adapter only? If a battery is internally shorted it can take so much current that the PC can't boot.

Hi xpcman thanks for responding, if I remove the battery or leave it in, the blue strip next to the power socket (that would normally stay on) flashes on and off ?
