Get error msg while installing windows XP

Hello,
I'm using vaio vpceb26fg laptop which comes with preinstalled windows 7 home premium , but now i want to install windows xp on it. When I started to boot set up , first everything goes ok, but after some time it gives blue screen and message saying prevented due possible hardware damage........if this is first time then check hdd for errors.............like that.........

So plz if you know anything about it help me out..........

What does the error message say? It might be the problem of memory, of drive etc...

Go to BIOS(by pressing F2 or DEL on startup)

See for SATA controller option-change it from AHCI to IDE

Try installing again
