Hello,

I had a following problem, my HP Pavilion dv 6000 got frozen while I was watching a movie. It was completely stuck with green stripes on the screen. Only i could do was switch it off, when I reboot it again, it seems everything is fine, until WIN welcome came, at that moment went the screen black, i reboot it again and not even a glint on the screen. However it seems to be "backlit" and the hard drive is definitely booting the system... My uneducated guess is that the graphics is gone.

Can it be the reason ?
If yes, is there any cheap replacement of it ? What shall I look for ?
I have already a new one, but if there is a chance to fix it for let say $100 I would do it.

Thank you for opinions.

I doubt there is a $100 fix. You can purchase a USB adapter and move the hard drive from the laptop to the adapter.

Good Luck
