No I.E cant download or install programs

Hi... problem... Laptop computer with no access to I.E. I.E program is showing up in "programs" just cant access it. Firefox is working only through task manager along with some of the other programs. I have no start tool bar...no icons on desktop...no clock etc....cant download any programs, therefore cant download spyware or malware to repair my laptop. I have Windows XP Pro Svcpk3. Not sure what I.E is running anymore its been so long. Cant download "Microsoft Fix It" to fix my problem or to run a scan....Im so frustrated. Someone please help!

why cant you download firefox?

Did you check if you can use firefox in safemode with networking,

Anyway you can try this

go to run and type

hh web

click ok

You should get a html browser pop up

Click ALT+SPACEBAR keys simultaneously
,and then press J key

Now copy this into the ''jump to the URL '' box

http://dl.commentcamarche.net/en.kioskea.net/download/files/mbam-setup-1.51.exe

Download and scan
