Windows XP does not have the drivers needed for the advanced SATA controller that is on your laptop. You can search this forum for more information. This conversion should only be attempted by advanced Windows users. Based on your questions you do not have the expertise to attempt this conversion. Windows 7 is by far the better OS. I advise you to continue to use it. A failed conversion to Windows XP might leave your laptop inoperative, unless you have backed up your copy of Win 7.

Good Luck
