What Internet security software are you using? If possible I suggest you return all settings to their default values.
I assume you are using internet Explorer. You might try downloading Firefox or Chrome and see if you still have problems.
Java or Internet "helper" based malware can also cause symptoms like this. As a start you can download and run Malwarebytes it will scan your computer and remove suspect programs.
