Windows installer can not be working properly

hai as am used windows xp the windows xp installer can not be working properly the following error comes pls solve my problem
THE WINDOWS INSTALLER SERVICE COULD NOT BE ACCESSED. THIS CAN OCCUR IF THE WINDOWS INSTALLER IS NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED.

Hello,

Try this 1

Click on Start --> Run --> Type services.msc and press Enter.

Services window will be opened.

Scroll down and look for the service "Windows Installer" --> Double-click on it -->

Set the "Startup type" to "Manual" from the drop-down menu --> Click on OK.
