Keys not working

Hello,



keys zxcvbnm and escape key not working. moreover these keys are not detected by notpad or any other typing application like MS Word etc.
other keys work well.
also "left alt+F4" not working as it should.(as "right alt + F4" closes running application)
what could be the problem?

Actually I've also come to realize that some of these keys are strangely working sometimes for a few minutes so the keyboard is still working i;e ,also ever since the keys ceased to work, .Is it a virus infection? I've scanned my computer twice already with AVG latest ,nothing found!
P.S-I used my on screen keyboard to type all this :(
Plz help me out!!!

I doubt it's a virus. It's probably a broken keyboard. Keyboards can be replaced on most laptops. Just use Google to search for the repair manual. Since the replacement procedure varies by make and model. Ebay is a good source for replacement keyboards.
