Hotmail AND Xbox Live issue for some

For me this is a two pronged issue. I use the same hotmail account to login to my Xbox Live account I've had for years. After getting my 360 back for repairs I ran into this blocked issue after trying to login to Xbox Live.
What a way to piss off a console owner.
