Hello,

I am using an Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop running BIOS version 2.6.3 and I accidentally reset the bios to the setup defaults. Now whenever I boot up the computer, It states that I have a missing operating system. How do I configure it to load my OS?

Thank you for the help,
Ian

You will need to set the boot device to use the C drive (which should be the default).

In this case you only have one drive the C drive.
What did you do to the BIOS? Normally Dell does not offer many options in their BIOS. The defaults should work just fine. But, since it doesn't I suspect a disconnected or fail hard drive. Is the hard drive detected by the BIOS and shown in the its screens? Can you try a Linux Boot CD to test if the Laptop can boot?

Good Luck
