Why does my pc crashes when try to startup

Hello, I have a dell Inspiron 8500, it's very old but use to work fairly well but yesterday i woke up and turn it on as usual, it loaded the windows logo the crash to a blue screen, i restart the same thing happen, i tried last known good config. it just restart. i got sick of it so i tried formatting and it's the same, the i tried a newer version of windows (SP3) still doesn't change anything, please can anybody help me out here?

Hi there, well from my personal experience with blue screen, my motherboard had blown, so maybe your motherboard has given in. But this is just what i have experienced, yours might be the same or something else.

actually i found out that my graphic card as gone bad. Thanks though.
