Hi patrocolus,
Please try to check this Pen Drive with another computer and see if it gives the same error. If this Pen Drive works fine with the other computer, please try to format this Pen Drive in that computer and then use it in your computer and check. Also it is recommended that you run an anti-virus scan on both your entire computer and pen drive.
Do reply with results.

First of all thanks for your help. I tried what you said but it shows the same error on other machines too. I scanned them as well but it doesn't help. Could you suggest something else?
