can't find IDE Closed

Question

Hello,
Computer on start up screen says (after checking memory) that "Lokking for IDE Drives, and just spins.
When I reboot and attempt to get into Start-up (by selecting 'DEL') it just spins, nothing.
Would you think this a motherboard issue? C-MOS issue? Battery issue?

Lets try and get you some help. Before I type a long list of what it could be firstly 

I need to know Make and model of the PC or laptop  how old  it is is what OS is installed and what recovery discs and driver discs  you have or if the recovery is on a partition on your Hard Drive.

Also what were you doing on your computer the time before this occurred.


Once I get that info we will continue.
