Hi houseband,
A little clarification would help here. I would like to know if you want to reinstall the Operating System on your computer or you want to empty your Hard Drive by formatting it. Further, if you want to do an Operating System Reinstallation, please reply with the Version of Operating System you want to install on your computer.
Please do write back to us.

Hi houseband,
If you have the issue that your computer is running slow, please try the steps in the below mentioned link:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/setup/optimize.aspx#fbid=Unp0eaMdhPm
If the computer is still running slow we can proceed with the Operating System Reinstallation. In your reply please include the System Model Number of your computer or your computer configuration such as Hard Disk, Motherboard type, Memory (RAM), etc.
