Dvd not working since i updated to windows 8

Hello, i have a matshita dvd-ram UJ8CO that has stopped working since i downloaded windows 8. This is what it says .

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Can someone help me

Hi,

A common cause of Code 19 errors is the corruption of two registry values in the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class registry key namely UpperFilters and LowerFilters. Deleting similar values in the Windows Registry could be the fix to a Code 19 error that appears on a hardware device other than a DVD/CD drive.
