Conditional formatting of cell in other worksheet dependent

Hope I make this one clear.
I am working on a workbook created by a another and here is what I am trying to achieve.

An item selected from a drop down list in worksheet one needs to apply CF to another cell in worksheet two.

I am using 2003 .

When I try the CF it allows me to selec List but how do select an option for the particular item on the list
