Uninstall Norton problems

Hello,
I have windows Vista and wanted to get rid of Norton (Symantic) software and use something else. I uninstalled Norton and could not access the internet afterwards. I ended up putting it back on the computer so that I could access the internet. I still would like to get rid of Norton. Any ideas?

Norton has a uninstall program that you can download> See this site for more info. Good Luck
