Hi. Help needed please.

I have a 2010 workbook which tracks income and expenditure, by month, for a small voluntary organisation. I want to be able to select rows that contain the word "Capital" in a defined column and then copy the results into another preformatted tab. In practice this will identify all purchases of capital equipment and add them to the Asset Register.

Does anyone know of a way to do this, please ?

autofilter in that partcular colum critria being "capital"
you can copy FILTERED data anywhere you want.

Venkat1926, thanks for the tip. How do I arrange for the results of the autofilter search to not show on the same sheet but to be pasted into the next free rows of a different tab ?

advanced filter helps to give unique items

autofilter filtre for that critrial. It NEED NOT be in different sheet. you do it the same sheet highlight dilgered data and copy todifferent sheet. go back t0 kloriginal sheet remove filter you get your original data.
