Backspace not working

Having to puch way too hard to get the backspace to work; ideas? Os is the workaround to reprogram backspeace to another button on the keyboard?

Anyone have specifics on how to do that on a sony vaio laptop? It's my daughter's at school so I don;t have it with me to check.

Hi Johnyapple,

If any key is hard to press on the keyboard, it either because of mechanical problems or something could be stuck under the keys of the keyboard stopping its smooth functioning. For the latter case the easy work around is to clean the keyboard of any dust or small particles stuck under the keys. If the problem is not fixed after cleaning, your idea of assigning "Backspace" to another key on the keyboard is a good one indeed. Please check the below article for easy steps on how to re-map the keys on the keyboard in Windows 7:
