Half of Hp pavilion screen has vertical/horizontal lines

Hello,
So for the past 2months or so my HP pavilion g series screen has been showing vertical and horizontal lines. This only happens to half of the screen well more towards the middle. The right side of the computer works perfectly, the middle cant be seen at all and the left side shows the vertical and horizontal lines. Please help, I've been told that it could be the LCD or graphic card problem. Please help!!

This is probably a hardware problem and needs a professional to fix. In the end it might be cheaper to buy a new laptop.
